BLACKPOOL V GILLINGHAM

Bloomfield Road

Sky Bet League 1

Tuesday February 11

Kick-Off, 7.45pm

Team News:

Stuart O’Keefe and Alfie Jones will both travel to Blackpool but it remains to be seen whether their respective knocks will have cleared up in time for them to play. Matty Willock came off due to cramp at the Pirelli Stadium but is also in contention for a place in the starting XI.

As for Blackpool, they might be able to welcome back both James Husband and Ryan Edwards who are back in full training following injury. Gary Madine will compete for a starting place with Nathan Delfouneso. Sullay Kaikai will be missing.

Manager Comments:

Simon Grayson – “The win at the weekend has lifted the players. Of course, we’re not getting carried away with ourselves because a win is a win and it’s important we back that up with another good performance and another victory on Tuesday night.”

Steve Evans – “We don’t have the luxury of 25-30 players, but the dressing room is managing that itself because everyone is desperate to play.

“Blackpool have outstanding players and a Manager to match.

“We will need to be at our very best to return back to Kent with a point or three.

“Simon Grayson will have them organised and they will be confident after a good win on Saturday.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met in the reverse fixture at MEMS Priestfield Stadium in August when Blackpool came from 2-0 down to take a point in a 2-2 draw at ME7.

Alex Jakubiak had scored twice in the first-half to put the hosts in a commanding position, only for Sully Kaikai and Armand Gnanduillet to find the target within a few minutes of each prior to the interval.

In total the two teams have met on 40 occasions. Blackpool edge the head-to-head statistics with 15 victories to 11.

Odds:

Blackpool win – 6/4

Draw – 2/1
