Girls Academy Captain signs for Gills Ladies.
The club is delighted to announce that Girls Academy student Lucy Dante has been signed by Gills Ladies.
Dante, 18, joined the Academy at the start of last season and has made excellent progress, impressing enough in Academy games for boss Jamie Raynor to make a move for her.
The midfielder has been a consistent performer for the Academy team this term, serving as Captain, and will now compete for a regular place in the Ladies starting XI.
Commenting on her move, Lucy said: "The Girls Academy is all about progressing, and improving. The Ladies provides a pathway and if you are good enough you get to step up and play at a higher level.
"I've started training and was in the squad for the recent game against Cardiff. I play for the Girls Academy on a Wednesday and on the Sunday I can compete for either the development team or ladies first-team.
"Jamie works with the Academy too so it's nice to have one coach for everything because they know who you are and what needs to be worked on."
Jamie Raynor added: “I am delighted to add Lucy to the group. She will be a player for the future and already shows good attributes to play first-team Football.
“It also proves that the structure at the club is working as she has progressed from the Girls Academy.”
