Gills to play Exeter at home in Emirates FA Cup second round

Exeter to visit MEMS Priestfield Stadium in FA Cup second round.

Gillingham will play Exeter City at home in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The draw was made on Monday evening by former Lincoln boss Danny Cowley prior to Oxford City's home tie against Northampton Town.

Gills progressed to the second round of the competition following a 3-2 win over Woking at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday. The visitors went ahead only for Dominic Samuel (2) and Vadaine Oliver to find the target in the second half to complete an excellent comeback.

The reward for Steve Evans' men is a home tie against League 2 opposition.

After the draw, the manager said: "We wanted a home draw and the balls have been kind. Exeter are a team full of good players and a young manager whom I think highly of.

"We will need to produce a good performance to make progress in this country's premier, and distinguished, Cup competition."
