Steve Evans will take his Gills team to the bet365 stadium to take on Championship side Stoke City next week.
Gillingham will play Stoke City in the third round of the Carabao Cup at the bet365 stadium on Wednesday September 23 (7pm).
Stoke City defeated Wolves 1-0 at Molineux on Thursday night, while Gills advanced following a penalty shootout win over Coventry City on Tuesday.
The respective results means Gills will play Stoke for the first time in a competitive fixture since January 2012, when the Potters won an FA Cup third round tie 3-1. Danny Kedwell had given Andy Hessenthaler’s side the lead, only for Jonathan Walters, Cameron Jerome and Robert Huth to find the target for the visitors.
The winner of the third round tie next week will visit either Bristol City or Aston Villa in the fourth round.
