Craig Stone with his thoughts following draw at Southend.
“This was a tough game, very windy and scrappy. It was blowing a gale and certainly a game of two halves, but it was a fight and the boys were up for it and showed a different side to what we did at AFC Wimbledon.
“We stood up to it, did really well, took the lead in the first half through Vinnie Medhurst from a long throw. We were in complete control until they scored against the run of play with 25-30mins to go; we had a corner, took too many chances and they went down the other end and scored.
“We had defended really well up until then, and then their keeper got sent off and they didn’t have a sub keeper so a player went in goal and we were bombarded in their half; we had half chances but nothing that really tested their lad. It was disappointing not to win, but before the game we would have taken a draw away at Southend. We probably should have taken all three."
