Robbie Cundy battling to be fit for the visit of Shrewsbury.
Gillingham v Shrewsbury Town
Sky Bet League One
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Saturday April 10
Kick-Off, 3pm
Team News:
Steve Evans could make changes to his starting XI following the defeat to Blackpool. He will also be hopeful that Robbie Cundy is fit enough to return having missed the last couple of weeks through injury.
The manager is awaiting an update on the condition of Callum Slattery, however he will definitely miss Saturday's fixture.
Aaron Pierre could miss the game for the visitors through injury. He was supposed to start the game against Plymouth on Easter Monday, but pulled out before kick-off. Ro-Shaun Williams started that game and will likely take his place.
Brad Walker will travel to the MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday but may not be fit enough to play.
Manager Comments:
Steve Evans: “Shrewsbury have the capability to hurt us. They have comfortably beaten teams and they will be a tough opponent. They will be set up properly and they have some really good footballers.”
Alex MacDonald: “Saturday is our sole focus. We’re looking to go into the game as positive as we can and play as well as we have done.
“We’re not underestimating Shrewsbury. We know that we will be in for a tough game Saturday and we’ll be well prepared and right up for it."
Aaron Wilbraham: "We know Gillingham are a strong and physical team. They have been doing well of late and have picked up some good results. They are a dangerous team, and we will have to be on our guard going into the game on Saturday.
"Steve Evans is really experienced and has done well at the other clubs he's been at. He'll have his lads fired up and we will have to be ready for that."
