Sky Bet League One

MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Tuesday March 2

Kick-Off, 6pm

Team News:

Steve Evans could name an unchanged starting 11 following Saturday’s impressive draw at Portsmouth. Stuart O’Keefe played his first full 90 minutes since returning from injury, so will be monitored.

Alex MacDonald missed the game through illness but is hopeful of being fit enough to play.

Russell Martin confirmed that Andrew Surman came off against Oxford due to tiredness. Daniel Harvie picked up a knock in the game and had to be substituted before half-time. He will be a doubt for Tuesday’s fixture.

Scott Fraser could start having come out of his appearance against Shrewsbury unscathed. Jordan Houghton, a former Gills loanee, may see an increased role after featuring in the last two games as he continues to rebuild his match fitness.

Manager Comments:

Steve Evans - “Russ [Martin] has done a terrific job. They’re full of good players.

“They’ll be expansive, they’ll be passing, and Russ is young man that I’ve got a lot of time for. He’s a young man that’ll do very well in this game of management. We know it’s going to be a tough evening for us.”

Russell Martin - “Gillingham is a tough place to play, against a manager who knows the league really well. His teams have great intensity and they are very good at what they do. It’s a game where we'll have to show a lot of character."
