Lincoln City v Gillingham

Sky Bet League One

LNER Stadium

Tuesday March 16

Kick-Off, 7pm

Team News:

Steve Evans made two early substitutions in the second half of Saturday’s win at Swindon, and both could start on Tuesday. Alex MacDonald and John Akinde made a positive impact, and Robbie McKenzie may feature in midfield.

Michael Appleton may feel inclined to make changes after his side's defeat to bottom of the league Rochdale on Saturday. Liam Bridcutt could start the game having returned to the bench.

Tom Hopper and TJ Eyoma could both return to the starting 11 having been substitutes during the defeat. Morgan Rogers should keep his place having scored.

Manager Comments:

Steve Evans - “We have to find a way to be able to combat what they’re about.

“They’re a top side but it will make interesting reading if we bring something back from Sincil Bank. Then we’re set up with two humdingers after that in Doncaster Rovers and Hull City.

"All the pressure tomorrow night is on Lincoln City. Big budget teams need to get promoted.

“We will have to be at our best; all the expectation is on them.“

Vadaine Oliver - “It’s going to be a hard one away at Lincoln, but we go into it with the confidence that we’ve come away with today [at Swindon].

“It will be a tough task, but we will go there and give it everything.”

Michael Appleton - “We’re going to have to have that type of game, where we’re really solid.

“And when we win the ball back, we need to be really clean and look to break very, very quick.”
