"If we can go to Bolton and get a point it's a good day. They have carried momentum into this season with a good young manager."

Ian Evatt - “We try to win every game we play and we want to put an end to this disappointing week.

“We know what we have to do, it’s going to be a really tough game. We know what we’re getting with a Steve Evans team, there’s no hiding from that.”

Recent Form:

Bolton Wanderers- LLLWW

Wanderers have not scored in any of their three previous league games. They were beaten 3-0 by table toppers Plymouth on Tuesday night, and lost 4-0 at home to Wigan last Saturday. Those results leave them 11th in the League One table with 18 points after 14 games.

Bolton’s last league win came against Shrewsbury Town at the beginning of October. Antoni Sarcevic and Oladapo Afolayan put Ian Evatt’s side 2-0 up, and although Luke Leahy scored late on, it proved to only be a consolation as Bolton hung on for a 2-1 win.

Gillingham- WLLLL

Gills won their third game of the season last time out as they beat Doncaster Rovers 1-0 at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium. Vadaine Oliver scored the winning goal as he headed home from a Danny Lloyd corner with a little over ten minutes remaining.

That win leaves the Gills in 19th place in the League One table with 14 points after 14 games. On their last away trip, Gills were beaten 2-0 at Wycombe. Gareth McCleary and Brandon Hanlan both scored inside the opening seven minutes to secure all three points.

Previous Meetings:

The last meeting between the two sides saw the Gills beat Bolton 5-0 at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium in 2019. Connor Ogilvie put Gillingham in front before Olly Lee scored a goal either side of a Brandon Hanlan close-range finish. An own goal by Jordan Boon put the icing on the cake as Steve Evans’ side ran out comfortable winners.

The only time Gills have won at Bolton was in November 1984. Terry Cochrane and Dave Shearer were the scorers on the day as Gillingham won the game 2-1.
