Max Ehmer and Stuart O'Keefe will be assessed up until the last minute ahead of Harrogate's trip to ME7.
Gillingham v Harrogate Town
Sky Bet League Two
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Tuesday August 16
Kick-Off, 7.45pm
Team News:
Max Ehmer is a doubt for Tuesday’s game after coming off due to illness in the defeat to Tranmere at the weekend. Stuart O’Keefe came off the bench on Saturday and could come into the starting XI if there is no reaction.
Dom Jefferies, who has missed the previous three games, is still an injury doubt and is more likely to be available for Saturday’s fixture at home to Walsall.
After impressing on his debut, Kayne Ramsey should retain his place in the Harrogate starting XI. Harrogate could make changes following the 0-0 draw against Crawley Town.
Manager Comments:
Neil Harris - “We have to go one game at a time, Harrogate are coming up. It’s a League 2 match and it’s going to be a difficult challenge.
“We’ll prepare and recover the players and prepare ourselves. I’ve got to pick a team that I feel is capable of not just winning a game of football but representing the team in the correct manner."
Simon Weaver - “I think we’re going to be coming up against a wounded animal on Tuesday night.
“From what I know of Neil Harris, I’d say that the absolute least I expect is that they really come out fighting. They’re back at home in front of their own fans and they will be desperate for a reaction.”
Previous Meetings:
Tuesday’s fixture will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs. The reverse game at the EnviroVent Stadium will take place on Saturday March 4, 2023.
