Gills set for Palace friendly

Palace to visit Priestfield in pre-season game on July 19.

Gills will take on Premier League side Crystal Palace in a pre-season friendly at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday July 19 (7pm).

This will be the fifth warm-up game for the club ahead of the 2022/23 Sky Bet League 2 campaign which kicks-off away at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday July 30.

Crystal Palace, managed by former Arsenal and France midfielder Patrick Vieira, finished 12th in the Premier League last season and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

The clubs have played in pre-season friendlies before, but haven't contested a competitive game since 2004 when Danny Butterfield's second half goal gave Palace a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park in the first division.

The team they will send to Priestfield will be a mixed squad of first-team players who are not travelling to Singapore and Australia, alongside Academy players.

Tickets remain on sale, with prices as follows:

Adults - £12

Concessions - £7

Young Adult (18-21) - £7
