A long journey awaits the Gills team as they head to AFC Fylde for the first round of the FA Cup.
AFC Fylde v Gillingham
Emirates FA Cup First Round
Mill Farm
Saturday November 5th
Kick-Off, 3pm
Team News:
Gills boss Neil Harris is expected to name a strong line-up for the game. Ben Reeves and Shaun Williams will miss the fixture as they continue their recovery from injury. After coming off injured in the defeat against Doncaster, Jordan Green will be a last-minute decision for the management team.
Jake Turner could start in goal as he has done for every cup game this season.
Danny Rowe could lead the line for Fylde, having scored the winner in their 1-0 win against Peterborough Sports. Former Gills midfielder Curtis Weston is expected to start for the visitors.
Manager Comments:
Neil Harris - "We are playing against a good Fylde side; the players know what to expect.
“We want to be in the second round. Fylde is the next game, they will have a right go but my players should see it as an opportunity to build some collective form."
Andy Taylor - “The expectation will be on Gillingham to win, so it's almost a free hit. We can play with freedom and express ourselves.
"It makes a nice change because we are expected to win most games we play in due to the infrastructure of the club and we have to deal with that."
