Gills secure a point against Stevenage at Priestfield.
Gills came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against league leaders Stevenage at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday.
Danny Rose had put the visitors in front courtesy of a strong header before Elkan Baggott scored one of his own at the other end shortly before the interval.
Neil Harris made one change to the team that drew with Crewe last weekend with Baggott coming in for Ryan Law who was among the substitutes.
It was a competitive encounter from start to finish but in the first 20 minutes there were few clear cut chances to speak of. The first one fell to Scott Kashket on 21 minutes when Hakeeb Adelkaun evaded a few challenges before sending a peach of a ball across the face of goal.
Kashket managed to make contact but from close range sent his effort over the bar. Stevenage seemed to step up a gear following Gills missed chance and took the lead seven minutes later.
A cross from the left hand side was sent towards Danny Rose, he made excellent headed contact and guided an effort into the top corner giving Glenn Morris absolutely no chance.
The visitors had a couple of half chances to extend their lead, they were not taken and they were made to pay for their missed opportunities when Gills equalized five minutes before the break.
Will Wright's free-kick was sent into the danger zone, Baggott won half a yard on his marker and sent an excellent header beyond Taye Ashby-Hammond.
H/T: Gillingham 1-1 Stevenage
Stevenage made a change at the interval and came out of the blocks quickly, a couple of crosses into the penalty area needed to be well defended, with Max Ehmer blocking a Jordan Roberts effort from the edge of the box.
On 55 minutes Gills had a good chance to take the lead when Williams' corner was sent to the back post. Baggott and Mandron were both well placed, the final touch came off a blue shirt but went inches past the post.
With less than 20 minutes remaining on the clock Michael Bostwick tried his luck from 20 yards but sent a powerful right footed effort over the bar.
Four minutes later and Stevenage had a golden opportunity to go in front when Roberts pounced on a loose ball, got between Wright and Alexander before going through on goal. Morris came out to narrow the gap, the forward got it past the Gills number one, but missed the target.
