Harris | "Our game management was excellent"

Neil Harris chats to the media following the 1-0 win over Doncaster on Good Friday.

Ahead of the Easter weekend the Gills didn't have a Good Friday, they had a Great one.

An incredible eighth win from the previous nine home fixtures has put safety within touching distance and the players were rightly roared off the field by a bumper ME7 crowd.

The latest team to leave Fortress Priestfield pointless was Doncaster; this time Tom Nichols did the damage with a superbly taken volley.

After his now refreshingly-regular fist-pumping celebrations with an ecstatic Gills crowd, jubilant manager Neil Harris addressed the media.

"Clean sheet, scored a brilliant goal and we have three points at home," reflected a satisfied Harris. "We have been the best team in the league since January. What we have achieved in the last 17 games has been magnificent.

"Other than two or three shots from outside the box today, I don't remember them having too much pressure on us.

"I am delighted with the points and the clean-sheet mentality. The game management was really good.

"The players were outstanding and could have had more goals. Even when our game wasn't free-flowing our game management was excellent.

"How far have we come as a football club to turn up and expect to beat Doncaster who are in front of us in the league? The time for reflection comes at the end of the season.

"We have six games to go and we have five of those games against sides in the top seven or eight. They are the games I can't wait for, let's impose ourselves on these top sides.

"The only thought process for us is to keep amassing points from now until the end of the season."
