Gillingham v Doncaster Rovers

Sky Bet League Two

MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Friday April 7th

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Neil Harris could make changes to the team that conceded a last-minute goal away at Barrow in the 2-1 defeat last weekend. Oli Hawkins may return to the line-up, as could David Tutonda. Having missed the previous fixture due to injury, Dom Jefferies is in contention to be named in the matchday squad, with Lewis Page also pushing for a place.AFC-WIMBLEDON-V-GILLS-EFL-CUP-053.jpg

Joseph Oluwu will miss the game on Good Friday for Doncaster due to a tear in his hamstring. The visitors could call upon the likes of Jack Goodman and Bobby Faulkner for Friday’s game, with Goodman making his league debut in their 2-0 defeat to Crewe.

Manager Comments:

Neil Harris- "Our ultimate focus is on Doncaster.

"We want to keep the feel good factor at Priestfield flowing. We have loved playing here since January.

"Brad and Shannon will be here which is great for us. From my perspective, we have a lot to play for!"

Danny Schofield - "They’ve had a big recruitment drive in January which saw them bring a few players in and helped them become competitive in the division.

"We know they have a distinct style of player, so we’ll prepare for that and try to improve the things that we’ve identified in our recent poor run."

Previous Meetings:

When the Gills travelled to the Keepmoat earlier in the season, it was Doncaster that came out on top with a 1-0 win. Harrison Biggins scored the only goal of the game on the hour mark as he headed Kyle Knoyle’s cross into the back of the net.

A memorable Gills win against Doncaster came in September 2015 under the late Justin Edinburgh. Jake Hessenthaler scored the only goal of the game six minutes after coming on as a substitute. Bradley Dack beat the offside trap before finding Hessenthaler inside the penalty area.

The midfielder took a heavy touch before sending the ball goalward. A Doncaster defender cleared the ball off the line, but the referee believed it had crossed the line and awarded the goal.
