Gills defender signs new deal.
Robbie McKenzie has put pen to paper on a new contract at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.
The 24-year-old, who won the Players’ Player of the Year award at last May’s end of season awards dinner, initially joined the Gills in August 2020 on a two-year contract and was offered a new deal last summer.
The defender, who can also operate in midfield, rejoined the club on transfer deadline day in August and has, to date, made 39 appearances this campaign. He has scored one goal, that coming against Sutton United at Gander Green Lane in December.
He joins Max Ehmer, Shaun Williams and Glenn Morris in signing a new deal at the club.
On signing his new contract, Robbie said: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal before the end of the season. The club is heading in the right direction, the fans here are superb and I want to be a part of what is an exciting project.
"However I am keen to finish this season on a high, starting against Newport at home on Saturday."
