Neil Harris will be watching on Sunday morning as England's women take on Spain in the World Cup Final.
Neil Harris is backing the Lionesses to roar their way to World Cup victory this Sunday in Sydney.
Harris, who is a huge fan of the Women’s national team, says he has been impressed with how the English players have seen off strong competition to make the showpiece final and he will be tuning in to hopefully see them lift the trophy.
“I can’t wait,” admitted the Gills boss. “If the Lionesses win, it would be great for them and great for Women’s Football and great for the nation.
“It’s a huge boost for Women’s Football, the publicity from it. The fact that you walk into the local park and 20 years ago you would have 30 boys playing and not one girl. If you go to the park now, there might be more boys, but the ratio might be 2:1.
“I watched the semi-final with my wife and my daughters and thoroughly enjoyed it. What that England team has got is a ‘winning-mentality’ and what I really like about them is they keep finding ways to win games.
“They now find themselves in the uncharted territory of being in a World Cup final and I think they will be worthy winners.”
