Paul Shaw to make Priestfield return

Paul Shaw will be at Priestfield for our game against Bradford City this weekend.

Legendary former Gills forward, Paul Shaw, will be our special guest for the game against Bradford City at Priestfield on Saturday December 16.

Shaw, now 50, works for Orlando City in the United States but is making a rare return to the UK for Christmas and will be visiting ME7 for Gills final home league fixture before the festive holiday.

He will enjoy a pre-match hospitality package in the Great Hall with members of his family, conducting a Q + A in the process before taking to the pitch prior to kick-off to take the applause of the Gills faithful. He will then watch the game from the upper tier of the Magnus Search Medway Stand before taking in the "Man of the Match" reception.

An interview with the former Arsenal and Sheffield United player will form one of the first features in a new series entitled "Gillingham Legends." This will be uploaded to our official YouTube channel in the opening months of 2024.

Shaw joined Gillingham from Millwall in the summer of 2000 having come through the youth ranks at Highbury and went on to score 29 goals in 151 appearances in all competitions for the Kent side prior to joining Sheffield United in January of 2004.

He went on to play for Rotherham United, Chesterfield, Oxford and Hungarian side Ferencváros before finishing his career with FC New York in 2011.

We look forward to welcoming Paul to Priestfield at the weekend. If you want to show your appreciation to one of our stalwarts during our time in the Championship then purchase your match tickets by clicking here.
