No new fresh injury concerns for Neil Harris as Grimsby prepare to make the long trip to Kent.
GILLINGHAM V GRIMSBY TOWN
Sky Bet League 2
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Tuesday February 14
Kick-Off, 7.45pm
Team News:
Neil Harris has no fresh concerns following Saturday's defeat at Mansfield, however changes might be made considering the club will play a lot of fixtures in a short space of time. George Lapslie is pushing for a start while Joe Gbode could return to the squad.
As for Grimsby, Paul Hurst similarly has no new injury or suspension issues, however Kieran Green is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Manager Comments:
Neil Harris - “Paul Hurst has done a great job over the last 18 months getting out of the league below and then stabilising in a difficult division in League 2.
“They got beat on Saturday, we may have to expect changes to his side as well, but when you play a Paul Hurst side it is always going to be competitive.”
Paul Hurst - “We just have to keep our feet on the ground because we’ve got a lot of games coming up so there’s not going to be much time to have a breather. In one sense after [the Colchester defeat] that is a positive because they get a quick chance to put in a better performance.”
Previous Meetings:
The clubs have met on no less than 37 occasions, the first taking place in 1921 which the Mariners won 2-0. Earlier this season a 1-1 draw was played out at Blundell Park with Mikael Mandron scoring for the visitors.
In total the Gills have won 11 of the games contested, with Grimsby edging the statistics with 16 victories.
Odds:
Gills win - 6/4
Draw - 21/10
Grimsby win - 9/5
