One of Gills new arrivals says he cannot wait to get started as Hartlepool prepare to visit ME7 in a crucial League 2 encounter.
The eye-catching signing of Timothee Dieng has been warmly welcomed by the Gills faithful, and the Frenchman's promise to 'give everything in a blue shirt' are just the words fans were hoping for.
The all-action midfielder, 30, has pedigree at this level and was instrumental in helping previous club Exeter City win promotion to Sky Bet League One last season, picking up their Player of the Season Award and making it into the league's Team of the Season for good measure. Dieng, who plundered 17 goals in 68 appearances for the Greecians, has previously enjoyed spells at Brest, Southend, Bradford and Oldham.
"Gillingham have impressed me," said Dieng. "They have talked to me about the project and they showed a good interest in me. I spoke to the manager and he really wants me to play in the team.
"I am happy to get the deal over the line and am just delighted to be here. I'm just looking forward to getting started.
"I am a central box-to-box midfielder, and I am good in both boxes. I can defend, I'm good in the air and I can score goals.
"I can't wait to meet the fans and my new teammates. We have Hartlepool on Saturday and I'm ready for it".
