Gills sign Tristan Abrahams on loan

Tristan Abrahams arrives on loan.

Gills boss Neil Harris has added to his forward options before the end of the January transfer window with the capture of Tristan Abrahams on loan from Eastleigh until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old former Newport and Carlisle striker becomes the club's ninth signing since the Galinsons took the helm as owners on December 23, and he could make his debut at home to Crawley Town this Saturday.

Abrahams, a strong aerial presence at 6'1, began his career in the youth ranks at Leyton Orient but made his professional debut for Newport in August 2019 at home to Mansfield Town in League 2.

During the 2019/20 season the forward struck 10 goals in 46 appearances and, the following season, scored eight goals in 28 games before returning to Orient.

In July 2021, the striker signed for Carlisle United on a two-year deal and started the season for the Cumbrians, but in January of the following year he agreed to join Grimsby for the remainder of the campaign on loan.

Eastleigh clinched the signing of the striker in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer and, so far this term, has scored four times in 27 games.

We officially welcome Tristan to the club. A squad number will be confirmed in due course.
