Gills heading to Como for pre-season tour

The Gills are heading to Italy for a pre-season tour.

It has been confirmed that the Gills will be heading to Como for a pre-season tour in July.

Neil Harris' men will fly out to Italy on Sunday July 9, the day after the game against Dover at Crabble, and will return on Thursday July 13 ahead of a fixture that Saturday.

A tour abroad has been on the agenda for a number of weeks, but the location has now been rubber stamped as the club prepares for the 2023/24 Sky Bet League 2 season.

A first-team fixture will be taking place on Wednesday July 12 at 1pm.

Fans will also be able to attend an open training session on the Tuesday afternoon. More details on this will follow.

Neil Harris said: “I recently spoke about a pre-season tour and I’m delighted that we are teaming up with Como to use their facilities with two people we know well in Dennis Wise and Marc Bircham.

“More details will follow but there will be an opportunity for fans to watch a game, and watch myself and the team train 24 hours prior to this.”
