Conor Masterson has expressed his delight at agreeing terms on a permanent deal at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.
Scrolling through the responses on Twitter and Facebook, it's pretty evident that Gills fans are just a bit happy with the permanent transfer of Conor Masterson.
Over his two loan spells at ME7 the Irishman, 24, has expertly slotted into Gillingham's backline as seamlessly as one of his tackles.
With his fantastic positional awareness and ability to read the game it is clear why he has played for teams such as Liverpool and QPR as well as featuring for the Republic of Ireland U17, U19 and U21s.
Masterson's excellent contribution since rejoining in January saw Gillingham transform from a team in trouble into one of the division's danger sides. The club moved quickly after his loan spell drew to a close and it is clear why supporters are just as happy as the management team to see him finally sign a deal which is a permanent one.
"I am playing my best football of my career at Priestfield," explained Masterson, speaking exclusively to the club website. "I have a great connection with the team, the fans and the Gaffer, I just wanted to work with them again.
"I have such a great connection with the club so I'm really happy and I just want to keep it going. Since the owners have come in it has been an unbelievable place to be at and I want to be a part of it. I'm delighted to get the deal done.
"I didn't expect how well we would do from January and I think everyone was surprised. The run we went on was just magnificent, especially at Priestfield, it was like a fortress. If anyone wants to get a result here, they are really going to have to be at their best.
"I really didn't want this season to end, as a team and as a group we have enjoyed everything since January. We have done really well and won a lot of games and I just wanted to continue.
"We won 10 out of our 12 games at home, that was massive for us. We are going into next season where we want to be pushing for promotion, that's the aim for this club and I think we should be.
"It's nice to have a break, go home, relax and see the family and get a bit of sun.
"I have really enjoyed my time at Gillingham over the last two loan spells and now I am here permanently, I can't wait for the new season to start."
