Clemence | "I am really hungry to do well"

Gills boss has an appetite for success.

Stephen Clemence followed up Friday's fan meet and greet in the new Club Shop with a triumphant first home league win on Saturday.

After the doors to the stylish retail hub opened, the Gills Head Coach was quick to shake hands and discuss his vision with excited supporters. The following day he was in the dugout masterminding an impressive victory over Salford, so it was a pretty good weekend for supporters and manager alike.

"The fans were great with me after the Salford win and I got a lovely reception at the start," said the Head Coach after the 3-1 win. "It was nice and it was really appreciated.

"I went to the opening of the Club Shop a day before the game and it was great to meet fans. I hope I can give them something to shout about.

"When there is a disconnect between supporters and the team, you can't have success, so we need to make sure that we are all on the same page. We all need to be trying to achieve the same thing.

"One thing I can tell the supporters is that this group of players will give their all for them. They might not always get it right, but their effort and commitment will always be there.

"I want to do well for the owners, supporters and the players. I want to make my family proud. I am really hungry to do well."
