Stephen Clemence looking forward to meeting Gills fans at shop opening

Gills boss to attend the unveiling of the club's new shop.

Stephen Clemence says that being at the grand opening of the new Gillingham Club shop on Friday 17th November will give him a great opportunity to meet some of the loyal supporters who are the lifeblood of the club.

Clemence, who has recently been installed as head coach at ME7, has been thrown into a whirlwind of fixtures since joining so he hasn’t had the chance to speak to too many fans. He is now looking forward to the doors of the impressive shop swinging open for the first time, before this weekend’s fixture with Salford, and he can’t wait.

“I am looking forward to the event,” said Clemence. “I haven’t really had a chance to meet and greet the fans, so this is great. We had the EFL Trophy game here, where I saw one or two people, but I haven’t had the chance to talk to too many.

“I got a nice welcome when I got off the bus at Wrexham last week. There was quite a few fans around the bus then, which was nice.

“I am obviously going to the shop but I won’t be modelling any of the clothing, I can assure you of that. Me and Robbie Stockdale will go and meet some of the supporters, and it should be good chance to speak with Gills fans.”

The Shop opens at 4pm and Stephen and Robbie will be in attendance from 16:30 until 17:30.
