Cheye Alexander receives international call-up

Cheye Alexander receives call-up for St. Lucia ahead of their Concacaf Nations League games against Guadeloupe.

The club can confirm that Cheye Alexander has been called up for international duty by St. Lucia ahead of their Concacaf Nations League fixtures against Guadeloupe.

This means the defender will be unavailable for selection for Saturday's game at Walsall. Scott Malone will also miss the game through suspension.

Cheye, 28, joined the Gills last summer and has, to date, made 63 appearances for the club and scored four times. His latest goal coming against Leyton Orient from the penalty spot at Priestfield in a 2-1 win in the EFL Trophy last month.

He joined his international teammates on Tuesday ahead of games against Guadeloupe, both home and away, on October 13 and 15 respectively.

He will return in time for Gills home game against Notts County on October 21.

All the best, Cheye.
