DJ says Gills will show respect to Notts County on Saturday, but hopes the positive home form can be continued.
Versatile-midfield Dominic Jefferies says he will play in any position the manager requires as long as he is pulling on the Gillingham shirt.
When asked if he has a favoured position, the 21-year-old said he just wants to be out on the grass supporting his teammates.
“I just want to do a job on the pitch,” said Jefferies. “I came as a central-midfielder but Neil Harris preferred me on the left, I felt like I did an alright job and I ended up staying there. I’ll play anywhere really, wherever I am told to play, it’s just a game of football and I’ll do my best and give one-hundred percent.
“If being able to play in different positions gets me a game on Saturday and I know if it’s better for the team, if someone is not ready to play or if someone is injured, I know I can step in and do a job there for the boys.
“I’ve played at Brentford, League 2 with Newport, non-league with Salisbury. I have experienced the gritty side of football, I have played the nicey-nicey tiki-taka style of it, I have had a mixture of all different styles and ways of playing under different managers and I have taken everything into my game.
“I have loved every minute since I joined Gillingham. There is still a long way to go, 30 games, we just need to keep the positive energy and positive vibes around the club.”
Next up, the Gills face high-flying Notts County at Priestfield on Saturday, but Jefferies says he is relishing the encounter.
“It’s a very big game and they are a great side,” he said. “We are a great side at home as well. Plenty of teams have come to Priestfield and have tried to keep the ball and they have struggled.
“This game will be a good test for us but I am sure it will be a good game. We both have good squads and high targets, it will be a tough game. They have some really, really good players, but so have we.
“It’s a pressure game but we just need to be relaxed and enjoy the occasions.”
Jefferies believes that Gillingham will have a not-so-secret weapon on Saturday, the home support, and he has called on the notoriously raucous Gills fans to raise the decibels to give them the edge.
“The fans will get behind us when we are attacking the Rainham End,” he said. “They will have our backs and all the boys will buzz off it.
“Our fans are massive, whether they follow us home or away. They are unbelievable. They have been brilliant all season. They are a twelfth man on the pitch, especially when you are attacking the Rainham End and everyone is screaming. It’s like it gives you an extra inch if you are chasing the ball. It’s hard to explain.
“We have enough in the squad to get three points on Saturday. We respect them as a team but at the end of the day, we want three points.”
