Neil Harris among nominees for August manager of the month award.
Gills boss Neil Harris has been nominated for the Sky Bet League 2 August manager of the month award.
During the month, Gills played five league fixtures and won four of them, all by a goal to nil. Harris' men also defeated Southampton 3-1 in the EFL Cup.
Full nominees are as follows:
Graham Alexander (MK Dons)
Turning around a relegated team when you are new to the club and have to assemble a squad quickly is no easy task, yet Alexander has the attacking Dons on top of League Two with 12 points and 12 goals to match from five games.
Neil Harris (Gillingham)
Gillingham’s form since the turn of 2023 meant that Harris’s side entered the new season with roaring expectations that would be hard to meet. Four 1-0 victories from their first four of five games only stoked the optimism in Kent still further.
Johnnie Jackson (AFC Wimbledon)
The Wimbledon board kept faith with Jackson in spite of a second half swoon last season. He rewarded them with an unbeaten start and nine points gained from five games, three away from home, and only two goals conceded.
Luke Williams (Notts County)
Williams has shown his faith in the players who earned promotion for County in May. That continuity and belief was evident as his side recovered from an opening day 5-1 defeat at Sutton to collect 10 points from their other four games in August.
ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2023
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
