Max Ehmer eager to succeed with the Gills in 2024/25.
Gills defender Max Ehmer reached the milestone of 400 Gillingham appearances and he admitted that he is still hungry for success at Priestfield.
After reaching his landmark 400th game against Doncaster, the defender confirmed that there is plenty of petrol left in his tank and he is already dreaming of a successful campaign next season.
"I am really proud and really grateful to all the managers here who have helped me get to 400 games," he said. "I must have been doing something right for the managers to pick me, so I have to make sure I keep doing it and help young players at the club.
"I remember my debut at Gillingham. I was on loan from QPR and it was against Port Vale at home, and I think it was 2-2. There have been lots of games that I remember and some I don't, but I have really enjoyed my time here.
"Some of the cup games have been very memorable, the West Ham game, the Southampton game earlier this season, there have been so many.
"I have enjoyed all the goals I have managed to score. My best goal would probably be Doncaster away, when I chested it and volleyed it, that was my favourite and best.
"Being at Gillingham has been huge for me. It has been a great ride so far. I feel I am at the same level I was at years ago but have even more experience. I still feel like I can do more than a job, I just need to keep going.
"I think I am seventh now in terms of appearances. The next Gills player above me is on about 419, so I will be looking to catch that. I'll just take it game by game.
"I have the summer now to relax and then we go back into pre-season. We know that we have improvements to make but we will be working towards that in pre-season. I am desperate for success at this club."
