Gills beat Wrexham to climb into the play-off positions, and the Head Coach was delighted with his players.
Gills Head Coach Stephen Clemence was delighted with his side following the crucial 1-0 win against Wrexham at Priestfield.
Tim Dieng scored the only goal of the game, getting on the end of Conor Masterson's attempted shot to help clinch maximum points and the Gills boss was happy to see the hard work they put into their set pieces pay off.
It was a sell-out at ME7 and Clemence thanked the fans for the part they played in the win.
Changing the approach...
We knew that we had to be better than we were from the last game. I felt that we were getting into areas on Tuesday and then running out of ideas. We had to work on it, and we worked on it in the last couple of days. The boys carried it out fantastically. They were brave and deserved the victory.
The goal...
We are a threat at set plays, and we do spend a lot of time working on them. I have to say though, it was a great ball from Max Clark. It's not an easy skill with a straighter free-kick to get the angle and the right trajectory on the ball. It was a great ball and a lovely finish too.
I haven't seen it back [the goal]. They will be fighting about it downstairs in the right way, but I know both of them will be happy with the three points. That's the main thing.
On Glenn Morris...
I thought he did really well. I had no worries about him playing today. I have seen enough of him at the training ground to know that he is a very good goalkeeper. He won the Player of the Year award last year as well, so I felt really comfortable with him going in between the sticks. He showed all the experience that he has got. He was calm and made some good saves.
The support...
I am not sure what the attendance was, but it felt good to be out there in the technical area. I am sure it must have felt great on the pitch. We really needed the supporters at times because they can help drive a player on.
I remember being a player, especially in home games when you're 1-0 up. You need that help from the crowd, and they kept the boys going today. They were fantastic.
