Gillingham v Forest Green Rovers
Sky Bet League Two
Priestfield Stadium
Saturday 20th January
Kick-Off: 3pm
Team News:
Head Coach Stephen Clemence will have a near fully fit squad at his disposal this weekend, with the recoveries of Dom Jefferies and Ashley Nadesan from a knee injury and sickness respectively.
The Gills Gaffer will also have a new option available to him when selecting his starting XI, having completed the signing of Remeao Hutton on a permanent transfer from Swindon Town earlier this week. The right sided defender could make his Gillingham debut.
As for Forest Green Rovers they could field new signings, Maxi Oyedele and former Gills midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe. Troy Deeney was relieved of his duties as Head Coach on Thursday night so Dan Connor will take charge of Rovers this weekend.
Manager Comments:
Stephen Clemence: “I think we are moving in the right direction. I think the lads are enjoying the football we’re playing. Okay, we’ve won three games on the spin but if you look back before that, I think we possibly could have won more. It’s another difficult game on Saturday, but we’ll be going for four on the spin.
“We got a bit of a monkey off our back against Accrington, scoring two goals away from home. I’ve told the boys on a number of occasions how much I believe in them. I believe we’ve got a really, really strong squad here.
“Obviously I do know them (FGR), having studied them recently.
"You have to consider what’s gone on between our last game and now. They play a system which is brave and can give you problems. Our boys will be prepared, like we prepare for every other game.”
Dan Connor: “We expect that they’re going to be right at it because they've got something to chase with the play-offs.
“We hope that it will be an entertaining game but ultimately the result is more important to us than the performance.”

This happened to be the first meeting between the two clubs, Forest Green held Gillingham to a 0-0 draw at the New Lawn, in their first match under the direction of then Head Coach, Troy Deeney.
