Robbie Stockdale was on media duties ahead of Gills trip to Lancashire.
Robbie Stockdale insists that Gillingham are very much "in the mix" for the play-off places but he wants his team to focus on the matches ahead, not the ones that have been and gone.
With the Gills sat only a touching distance away from the play-off spots, one point to be precise, Stockdale is now asking his men to take their game up a level to make sure they keep up their hunt for a top seven position.
"We have had two wins on the bounce, but that has gone, we need to make it three," said the assistant coach, ahead of a tricky away trip to Accrington.
"Confidence is high because that is what winning does to you.
"We know Accrington is a difficult game, it's never easy and they have experienced staff and players who know this level really well. They will be organised, as they always are, but we will focus on ourselves and how we can hurt them.
"We are relatively close to Accrington in the league, so we need to make sure we get all three points and go above them.
"There will again be a big following from the Gills supporters and they really help the team. People would have spent a lot of money over Christmas and the new year. We really appreciate it and we need to give them something to support.
"They have been very welcoming to myself and Steve and we hope to produce good results and good football to repay them back."
