Gills complete signing of Jack Nolan

Winger arrives at Priestfield.

Gillingham have completed the signing of Jack Nolan from Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed fee.

Nolan, 23, scored 17 times in 53 appearances last season including two on the final day of the campaign at home to Tranmere.

He began his career in the academy at Reading but made his professional debut for Walsall in January 2020 in a home game against Crawley.

In 2020/21, Jack played a further 12 games for the Saddlers before joining Accrington in the summer of 2021.

He has spent nearly three years at the Wham Stadium and, in total, has featured 80 times and scored 18 times in all competitions.

On the international stage, Nolan was capped four times by England U21, scoring once, against Germany.

On signing his contract, Jack said: "I am absolutely delighted and am looking forward now to the start of pre-season.

"When I spoke to the Manager I felt wanted and once I'd had the conversation my mind was made up really. I will give the best for Gillingham, and my teammates."

Manager Mark Bonner added: "Jack joins following an excellent season and at an age and stage of his career where he has accumulated good experience but, vitally, has lots more to come. It’s his potential that excites me and gives us all a challenge to get the best out of him.

"He’s determined to continue performing at a high level and will add quality to us in a wide area. Jack has outstanding delivery from crosses and set plays, is coming off the back of a season full of goals and assists, and will fit well in to our team."

An interview with Jack will be available on iFollow shortly.
