Clark | "There is a great spirit in the group"

We need to give it everything we have got, says Max Clark.

Max Clark says that the Gills players are happy to be in the play-off conversation, but they need to take it game by game ahead of what could prove to be a dramatic run in.

The Gills defender, speaking with the local media, believes that the team's togetherness could be the key to success as he eyes maximum points against Crewe on Good Friday at Priestfield.

"There is no reason why we can't nick a play-off spot," he said. "We are confident at this time of the season and are aiming to be right up there, but we just need to look at the next game. We have Crewe on Friday and we just need to take care of that.

"They are around us, so if we get a win on Friday, it will be massive for us. Hopefully we can come out of the game with a win.

"We are a tight group and we are all sticking together. There is a great spirit in the group and we are willing to go out there and fight for each other.

"To be where we are now is exciting, and the players are all excited and ready for it. We have a group who can do good things over the next six games, but let's take it game by game.

"We need to be on the frontfoot and fight for everything, let's give it everything we have got.

"We all want the best for each other and we all back each other, staff, players and fans, and that can help make us successful. We are all as one."
