Ehmer | "We have to go and deliver"

Centre-back calls for immediate response following Barrow defeat.

Max Ehmer is hungry for Gillingham to get back to winning ways on Saturday after the team's disappointing midweek loss to Barrow.

Gillingham had previously been in sparkling form prior to Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at the SO Legal Stadium. The Gills defender now wants a decisive response against Tranmere to get the promotion push back on track.

"Barrow was just a little blip and we have another chance on Saturday," said Ehmer. "We will face a tough Tranmere team in front of our home fans, but we are up for it. We are really looking forward to this game.

"Win, lose or draw, there is no point in dwelling on the previous game. On Saturday we have a chance to put things right and we will be looking forward to doing that.

"Like everyone knows, there is no easy game in this division so we will have our game plan and we will be aware of their weaknesses and strengths. When the game starts we have to be ready to break them down and win our duels.

"We go into all our games looking to win and this one is no different. We need to make sure we keep taking it one game at a time.We don't look past the next game, and the next game is Tranmere.

"It doesn't matter if it's a beautiful win or an ugly win, at the end of the day the fans want to see a win. We couldn't do that on Tuesday so we are looking to correct that this weekend. We have to go and deliver."
