Gills new signing, Asher Agbinone, says the club is the perfect place to continue his development and he is grateful for the opportunity he has been given at Priestfield.
The 19-year-old, who made his Premier League debut in October, arrives from Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season and he is keen to help the team out as much as he can.
Speaking to the club website, he said: “I am happy to be here and I am grateful for the opportunity. I am ready to get going.
“I am really excited to see the Gills fans and hopefully I can make my mark, be exciting, entertain, and bring some points to the team.
“I feel like it is the perfect time for me, and the perfect place, to continue my development under the new Gaffer.
“I am very determined, I want to help the team out in the best way. I am feeling good, and ready.”
Asher, who joined the club on Friday, was asked how he would describe himself as a player, he said: “I’m tricky, skillful, direct, and I like to get goals and assists and work hard for the team.
“I can play on both sides, more on the left, but I don’t mind either.
“They [the management] said they want me to play my game, be creative in the final third, be decisive and help the team.
“It will be special and I am looking forward to it.”
The winger was asked if it feels strange leaving Selhurst Park, albeit on loan, for the first time.
“No, not really to be honest,” he said. “Because at the end of the day that’s Football and I’m just going somewhere else to play but I am grateful for the opportunity to be here on loan.”
