Club supports World Heart Day

WorldHeartDay24

Every year on World Heart Day, 29 September 2024, the global community comes together to raise awareness of the world’s leading cause of death: cardiovascular disease. This year is no different.

We aim to encourage open conversations about heart and circulatory conditions and raise awareness about lifesaving research.

This year, the British Heart Foundation is focusing on sudden cardiac death and the urgent need for lifesaving research to stop this tragic reality.

Each week, around 12 young people in the UK are lost to sudden cardiac death. Their hopes and dreams gone in an instant. Among these dreams are those of becoming a professional footballer, like Taylor (age 14), and Jamie (age 13), whose aspirations were tragically cut short by sudden cardiac death.

We are funding groundbreaking research to help save young lives for generations to come. Projects like CureHeart, which aims to cure inherited heart muscle diseases, and pioneering research into sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS) are providing hope to many families.

But this work is just the beginning. We need your help to keep hearts beating. Together, we can protect precious hearts and create a future where young people dying from sudden cardiac death is a distant memory.
