Gills to play Blackpool at home in FA Cup first round

Gillingham will play Blackpool at MEMS Priestfield Stadium in the first round of the 2024/25 Emirates FA Cup.

The draw was made on Monday evening on BBC Two at the University of Bradford Stadium by Danny Webber and Stuart McCall, and it will see the Gills welcome Steve Bruce back to Kent who played for the club between 1979 and 1984, making 237 appearances in all competitions. 

He took over as manager at the League 1 club last month and has guided the team to tenth in the standings.

The two clubs last met in April 2021 at Bloomfield Road, the Gills falling to a 4-1 defeat having won the reverse league game 2-0 at ME7 thanks to two goals from Dominic Samuel.
