Gills boss Mark Bonner has been nominated for the Sky Bet League 2 "Manager of the Month" award for August.
The team accumulated ten points from their opening four league outings and were top of the league prior to last Saturday's fixture at Doncaster.
Nominees are as follows:
Mark Bonner (Gillingham)
Bonner has swept into Kent, bringing with him a front-foot style, utilising pace down the wings and an attacking energy and verve that has been rewarded with the leadership of League Two and 10 points from four unbeaten games.
Stephen Clemence (Barrow)
While he has introduced a free-flowing style that is more appealing on the eye, Clemence has been shrewd enough to trust the solid Barrow defence already in place. The result was nine points from four games and three clean sheets.
Johnnie Jackson (AFC Wimbledon)
The steady progression under Jackson’s tenure continues with Wimbledon starting well in both league – nine points from four matches - and two cups in a hectic 22-day, seven-game schedule in which to bed in a host of new players.
Mat Sadler (Walsall)
With last season’s learning behind him and a pre-season to prepare, Sadler’s players have benefitted from a consistency of voice, allowing the many new arrivals to settle in seamlessly and pick up nine points from four games.
All winners will be announced on Friday September 13.
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
