As for Fleetwood, Kian Harratt has made his initial loan move from Huddersfield Town a permanent one, and the forward is in contention to start.

Goalkeeper Jay Lynch will continue between the sticks while David Harrington recovers from an injury he picked up on Boxing Day. Former Gills loanee, Zech Medley, remains on the treatment table for Pete Wild's side.

Manager Comments:

John Coleman - "Every manager who goes into a new club says the same thing where it is a clean slate for everybody, and it is to a certain extent, everything is new!

“It’s new to us as well as we are learning about the players, we’re learning to take to the players, learning some of their names because it’s like being a teacher on the first day of term. But we are getting there. It’s a fresh start for the staff as well!”

Pete Wild – “We want to be the ones that get over the line every week. It’s about trying to implement what we can, making sure the players understand it.

“So close is not good enough. The players are trying so hard.”

Previous Meetings:

The teams have met on 18 previous occasions with Fleetwood having won eight of those. Gills have won only four, and the last time they recorded a victory over the Cod Army was in November 2018, clinching all three points in a 3-0 win at Priestfield.

A solitary effort from Brandon Hanlan and a Tom Eaves double did the damage.
