Team News:

Conor Masterson is now back in contention for a starting place having been in the squad for the visit of Morecambe on Saturday. Euan Williams and Jonny Williams could make an appearance, however it is unlikely that Marcus Wyllie will be involved as he continues to recover from injury.

Ethan Coleman (calf) will sit out.

As for Newport, they are without on-loan forward Kyle Hudlin (calf). Aaron Wildig is out for the rest of the season.

Courtney Baker-Richardson, suspended for the defeat to Doncaster, could return to the starting XI.

Manager Comments:

Nelson Jardim - “We need to a show a reaction. We need to show some desire, some aggression, even some pride.

“We need to make sure we are stronger on Tuesday because it’s a massive game against Gillingham and we have to compete."

John Coleman - "The focus then goes on preparing our players right and getting ourselves into a position where we can compete. I don't want it to be just one win. It's felt like forever and I don't want that feeling again.

“You're seeing the never say die attitude."

Previous Meetings:

Gillingham have never beaten Newport County since they reformed in 1989. Of the six games played, County have won five with the other match being a draw, and that one was an EFL Cup game which finished 2-2 in regulation time before Newport progressed on penalties.

The Exiles won 2-1 in the reverse fixture at MEMS Priestfield Stadium last October.

Odds:

Newport win - 13/5

Draw - 23/10

Gills win - 19/20

Special Bet: Robbie McKenzie to score in a 1-0 Gills win = 33/1.
