NOTTS COUNTY V GILLINGHAM

Meadow Lane

Sky Bet League 2

Saturday September 21

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Jonny Williams (concussion) and Robbie McKenzie (quad) are in contention for a starting place this weekend, however Ethan Coleman misses out due to suspension.

Conor Masterson (achilles), Tim Dieng (knee), Aaron Rowe (hamstring), Jake Turner (ankle) and Josh Andrews (quad) are all ruled out. Bradley Dack is unlikely to be risked due to a hamstring issue.

Jayden Clarke is pushing for a start having come off the bench to score twice last weekend. Joe Gbode, having signed a contract extension earlier in the week, could retain his place in a wider attacking role.

As for Notts County, Rob McDonald and Lucas Ness are nearing full fitness but this game may come too soon for them. Former Gills loanee Scott Robertson is unlikely to feature due to injury. Cedwyn Scott is also likely to miss out.

Manager Comments:

Stuart Maynard - "It's going to be a very tough game, they're defensively very solid. They're a good team, and I think they're expecting to probably be in and around it for a promotion push as well this season.

"Every game that you go into, there's different challenges within different games, and I think Gillingham will pose a different challenge to what we've probably had against us this season."

Mark Bonner - “It’s a good test for us, a good marker for us, a good challenge for us away from home in what's been a tough start in terms of opposition.

“It's set up to be a really good game and it's certainly one of those games you should be looking forward to and excited so early on in the season, when there's less consequence now than if it was game 40, potentially.

“But at the same time, I think it will be a really good challenging game and one to look forward to.”
