Stevenage v Gillingham

Bristol Street Motors Trophy Group Fixture

The Lamex Stadium

Tuesday November 12

Kick-Off, 7pm

Team News:

Mark Bonner is likely to make changes to his starting XI to allow those without recent game time to get minutes under their belt. Luca Ashby-Hammond could start in goal and the likes of Alex Giles, Harry Waldock and Joshua Bayliss are all available.

However Harry Webster (concussion) is unable to play. Joe Gbode and Marcus Wyllie could start in attack.

Gillingham need to win by two clear goals to advance to the knockout stages of the competition. If this isn't achieved then Stevenage or Crystal Palace U21 will go through.

As for the hosts, Tyreece Simpson is expected to partner Jamie Reid in attack. Daniel Kemp could play behind them in the ten role. Younger squad players are likely to get minutes.

Manager Comments:

Alex Revell –  “We’ve got a lot of players that are coming back from injury and haven’t played as much football as we’d like.

“The team will obviously look very different then because of circumstances.”

Mark Bonner“It's great for us to have something on it. That would be brilliant wouldn't it if we could go and do that? That would be like kamikaze stuff! I'd love that.

“We'll try, but we're obviously going to play against a really good side, they'll make changes I'm sure but they're still strong.”
