As for Walsall, who are currently top, their main attacking threat is likely to come from Albert Adomah, with Nathan Lowe having recently gone back to Stoke City following a successful loan spell.

Manager Comments:

Mat Sadler - “It’s going to be another good game for us against a team who have an incredibly experienced manager with good players.

“We know it’s going to be another tough one, but for us, we dust ourselves down, get ready for the next game, attack it and approach it in the way that we do.”

John Coleman - “I’m going to get players playing for this club and I’m going to get players playing for these fans because they deserve it miles more than what they’re getting at this moment in time.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs have met on no less than 120 previous occasions. Currently, the sides have 47 wins apiece with 26 draws.

Due to this being a rearranged game, we haven’t locked horns so far in 2024/25, however last season yielded just the one point for Gills having lost 4-1 at the Bescot, and drawing 1-1 in Medway.

Conor Masterson rescued a point for Stephen Clemence’s men last February, with Macauley Bonne grabbing what proved to be a consolation in the Midlands.
