BIRTHS...

1959- Pat Walker

Walker was recommended to the club by Damien Richardson's father, and made a good impression in the youth side where he scored 30 goals and helped set up many more.

He won 10 caps for the Republic of Ireland youth team, which created a lot of interest from big clubs.

Pat scored on his Gills debut against Colchester and went on to make a total of 51 appearances, but only added two more goals to that debut strike.

He later moved to Sweden to qualify as an English teacher.
