BIRTHS...

1966 - Tim O'Shea

Having played as a schoolboy at Arsenal, Tim came through the ranks at Tottenham and had played for Leyton Orient before arriving at Priestfield in February 1989.

He made his debut against Brentford and went on to play 127 times for the Gills.

After a spell playing in Hong Kong, and then in non-league football back in England, he took up managing the likes of Grays Athletic, Croydon Athletic and Lewes - normally with ex-Gill Neil Smith as his assistant.

DEATHS...

1943 - Joe Hodnett

The Wolverhampton born centre-half spent a season with the Gills having joined from Brentford in August 1927.

He made his debut on the opening day at Charlton and went on to play 17 times before returning to his native Midlands with Stafford Rangers.

Joe died in Willenhall on 12th November 1943.
