The former Welsh schoolboy, youth and under-23 international had previously been at Bristol Rovers, Manchester City, Swansea City (loan), Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday before a £60,000 deal had taken him to Somerton Park.

Having made his Gillingham debut as a substitute against Reading he went on to feature 107 times for the club scoring six times.

After leaving Priestfield he had spells at Port Vale and Barrow.

1957 - Trevor Aylott

The Bermondsey-born centre-forward came through the ranks at Chelsea and had played for another seven league clubs before arriving at Priestfield in the summer of 1992.

He made his debut on the opening day of the season at home to Northampton Town and went on to score four times in his 15 appearances for the club.

Trevor was at one point a regular back at Gillingham when doing statistical work for P.A.
