BIRTHS...

1950- Peter Feely

The striker began his career at Enfield before moving to Chelsea, but struggled to gain a regular place in the first-team at Stamford Bridge where he was competing againt the likes of Peter Osgood.

After spells at Bournemouth and Fulham he moved to Gillingham in October 1974 and he scored twice on his debut at Colchester United.

He went on to score 22 goals in 43 games before following manager Len Ashurst to Sheffield Wednesday in a £10,000 deal in February 1976.

Peter failed to match his goalscoring form at Hillsborough and, after a loan spell at Stockport County, he dropped into non-league football with Staines Town.

1980- Kevin James

Following his release from Charlton Athletic the young forward joined the Gills in August 2000 following a trial after impressing boss Andy Hessenthaler in a friendly while playing for Canvey Island.

He made his debut as a 73rd-minute substitute for Carl Asaba in a League Cup victory over Torquay United.

After four goals in 53 games, more than half coming as a sub, he signed for Nottingham Forest in May 2004.

Loan spells at a number of clubs followed before being released from the City Ground in 2007 at which point he returned South with Welling United.

Time has since been spent at Woking, Crawley Town, Chelmsford City and he currently plays for Dulwich Hamlet.

1983- Danny Jackman

Danny, who was Player of the Year in 2011-12, is a versatile performer equally at home in midfield or at left-back.

The former Aston Villa apprentice has played for Stockport County, Cambridge United (loan) and Northampton Town apart from his two spells with the Gills.

Keep it quiet but he is 30 today.
