The Gills to hold special event on the opening day of the season
Next Saturday, 3rd August, will not only see the start of the Gills campaign back in League One, but it will also see our first ever football picnic take place in the morning.
The picnic is being held for the teams of our disability centre and will take place at St Margaret’s Junior School in Rainham.
The morning will consist of some fun football activities, after which the players will sit down for a relaxing picnic, with Tommy T in attendance to join in with the excitement on the day.
The event is not just open to the players from our teams; we would also like to extend the invite to any children with a range of abilities who would like to spend time with our players and enjoy some football.
Our Centre currently caters for children with various learning difficulties, including ADHD, Aspergers and behaviour difficulties as well as players who have minor physical disabilities like Cerebral Palsy.
If you would like to attend please just come along ready to play and with a picnic. The day starts at 10am at St Margaret’s CE Junior School, Orchard Street, Rainham, ME8 9AE.
On arrival please just ask for Kimi Bolden, Centre Manager.
