BIRTHS...

1943 - Pat McIntyre

The Aylesham born right-back played for both Dover and Kent Schoolboys and was on the groundstaff here at Gillingham.

He progressed through from junior to sign professional terms in July 1961, a couple of months after making his first-team debut at Exeter City in late April.

After just 11 appearances over the next couple of seasons he departed Priestfield and went on to play for both Dover and Ashford Town.

1946 - George Jacks

George, born in Stepney, was at West Ham United (amateur), Queens Park Rangers and Millwall before signing for Andy Nelson's Gills on a free transfer in June 1972.

His Gillingham debut came against Newport County on the opening day of the 1972-73 season and scored his first goal in a 3-0 home win against Doncaster Rovers six games later.

The following season he played a major role as the Gills won promotion from Division Four, finishing runners-up to Peterborough United. He was ever-present throughout and was voted as the supporters Player-of-the-Season.

After scoring 21 goals in his 174 appearances for the club, he moved a bit further up the North Kent coast joining Gravesend & Northfleet in 1976.

Spells followed at Barking and Canterbury City, ending his playing career at Kingsmead when retiring in August 1983.

1980 - Aaron Brown

The versatile Brown had gained plenty of experience during his spells at Bristol City and Swindon Town before signing for Gillingham in the summer of 2007.

He made his debut for Ronnie Jepson's Gills away at Cheltenham Town on the opening day of the 2007-08 but struggled to win a regular place especially after Mark Stimson took over as manager.

After 15 appearances in his one season, he moved to Lincoln City and has since played for Burton Albion, Wrexham (loan), Darlington and is currently at Bath City.
